Benjamin Edwards are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly respected and long-established organisation in Skegness who are looking for a Financial Accountant to join their busy Finance Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented, organised, and proactive finance professional who enjoys variety and responsibility. You’ll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy across the business and supporting management with meaningful financial insights. If you’re a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and can deliver accurate accounts to tight deadlines, this role could be perfect for you.

The role of the Financial Accountant:

  • Ensuring financial records are maintained accurately and efficiently
  • Designing and implementing accounts processes for new revenue streams
  • Supporting and overseeing onsite and offsite finance staff (excluding payroll)
  • Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Managing data transfer and reconciliation across multiple accounting systems
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and meeting set deadlines
  • Producing informative commentary for month-end board reports
  • Reconciling inter-company balances
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Supporting the annual statutory audit process
  • Carrying out additional duties as required
  • Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with all policies

The ideal candidate for the role of Financial Accountant:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified / Part-Qualified
  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail
  • A solid understanding of UK accounting standards
  • Strong Excel and systems experience (Sage or Xero desirable)
  • The ability to analyse complex information and solve problems effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team ethos
  • Strong organisational abilities and the confidence to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to the team
