Benjamin Edwards are recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer for a market-leading and dynamic organisation. This role is 32 hours per week over 4 days of your choice with flexible start and finish times.

The role of the Health & Safety Officer:

  • An ambassador for Health, Safety & Environmental, ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental Policies are adhered to
  • Ensure the safety on all company sites with regular onsite visits
  • Work closely alongside the company’s external H & S Consultants
  • To monitor and report on all aspects of Health & Safety
  • To develop and maintain H&S policies, systems, and procedures
  • To maintain the H&S Management system and control documentation within it
  • Working with the Management team to ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations
  • Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated, and recommended improvements implemented
  • Monitor safety inspections, fire drills, and fire alarms and ensure they are correctly documented
  • Ensure safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported
  • Liaise with Management team on the scheduling of relevant equipment training
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety and welfare legislation and communicate relevant changes to Management team
  • Provide regular reports to the Managing Director and Finance Director on relevant H&S activities
  • Undertake H & S audit reports with corrective actions and carry out follow up inspections to confirm corrective actions
  • Train colleagues to meet specific H&S requirements
  • Carry out and deliver H&S induction training to all new employees

The ideal candidate for the role of Health & Safety Officer:

  • NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent in occupational health and safety
  • Experience working within a high-risk environment such as agriculture, construction or manufacturing
  • Knowledge of current health and safety legislation, regulations and industry codes of practice
  • Have a full UK Driving licence and access to own vehicle
