Benjamin Edwards are recruiting for a Finance Manager to ensure the smooth delivery of the accounting operation of a successful family run business. As Finance Manager, you will be leading the periodic financial reporting for all legal entities and budgets, maintain accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's financial results and ensure that reports comply with financial reporting standards. You will also collate, calculate and check staff monthly time sheets and liaise with an external payroll company to ensure timely payroll. The hours are 8am to 5pm.
The role of Finance Manager:
- Proactively lead and manage the accounting function and ensure robust financial controls and measures are in place across the business
- Complete daybooks including bank reconciliation
- Compile the monthly and annual financial results for all legal entities in a timely, accurate, professional and agreed format
- Conduct regular sales and purchase ledger reviews and obtain approvals on supplier payment runs
- Collate, calculate and review hourly paid staff monthly time sheets and provide details to external payroll company of both salaried and hourly paid staff to ensure timely payment
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reviews for all legal entities
- Review and approve VAT returns for all legal entities
- Prepare annual budget for key stakeholders
- Provide ad-hoc reporting to the management team as required
- Oversee the annual external financial audit and bank audit process providing timely information
- Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, systems and control framework
- Provide support to the Managing Director
- Maintain KPIs
- Attend daily meetings as required and report any issues from the previous day and issues from that morning
- Carry out appropriate training when required by Manager
- Maintain cleanliness of own working environment
- Carry out any reasonable additional tasks deemed relevant by Line Manager
The ideal candidate for the role of Finance Manager:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, part qualified or QBE
- Experienced Finance Manager / Management Accountant
- Detail-orientated and organised
- Strong Excel experience
