The role of the Commercial Accountant:
- Provide clear, insightful financial reporting and analysis to support business decisions
- Partner with operational teams to understand performance and improve profitability
- Lead monthly management accounts, forecasts, and budgeting processes
- Deliver meaningful variance analysis and KPI reporting
- Support commercial decision-making on contracts, pricing, and business plans
- Identify and implement process and system improvements
- Collaborate across finance and wider teams to drive efficiency and understanding
- Contribute to long-term planning, including 5-year forecasts and scenario modelling
The ideal candidate for the Commercial Accountant:
- CIMA / ACCA / ACA Qualified accountant or strong QBE
- Experience in a commercial finance role, ideally within construction or contract-based environments
- Strong understanding of management accounting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Advanced Excel and strong systems skills
