Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and Learning
- Deliver high-quality teaching in line with the Teachers’ Standards and School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons and sequences of learning
- Set high expectations that inspire, motivate and challenge students
- Monitor, assess, record and report on student progress and achievement
- Provide timely and effective feedback in line with school policy
- Promote high standards of literacy and numeracy across the curriculum
- Effectively manage behaviour to ensure a positive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance
- Phase Leadership
- Provide leadership and management for a designated phase across the school
- Implement and secure high-quality teaching and learning in line with the school improvement plan
- Monitor and evaluate standards of teaching, learning and student progress across the phase
- Ensure high-quality and consistent assessment practices
- Lead curriculum delivery to ensure it is progressive, challenging and inclusive
- Organise and oversee phase-specific events and opportunities for enrichment
- Leading and Managing Staff
- Lead, motivate and support the phase team to improve student outcomes
- Foster a collaborative, supportive and high-performing team culture
- Model excellent teaching practice and professional standards
- Lead effective and purposeful phase meetings
- Contribute to appraisal processes and support colleagues’ professional development
- Promote a positive approach to workload and staff wellbeing
- Whole School Contribution
- Contribute to the development and implementation of school and trust policies
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, senior leaders and external partners
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers and other stakeholders
