Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to primarily operate within our COO organisation, partnering with senior leaders to shape and deliver the people strategy across a large, operationally complex and business-critical function. This role plays a key part in driving organisational effectiveness, leading enterprise workforce planning, and enabling transformation aligned to our strategic and commercial priorities. Operating at a strategic level, the role focuses on high-impact operational areas, bringing a forward-looking, data-led perspective to organisational design, capability planning, and enabling transformation aligned to business priorities. It contributes to P&L-aligned decision making, ensuring the organisation is structured and resourced to deliver against current and future business demands. This role operates in close partnership with the existing HR Business Partner in the function, ensuring continuity of support while bringing additional focus to enterprise-wide priorities, organisational effectiveness, and transformation. Working in close partnership with the wider HRBP team, this role complements and elevates existing support by focusing on enterprise-wide initiatives and transformation, ensuring a cohesive and high-impact people approach across the COO organisation.

Strategic Business Partnering

  • Partner with senior leaders to align people plans with business priorities.
  • Provide commercial insight and constructive challenge on performance, cost, and productivity.
  • Translate business strategy into clear organisational and workforce implications.
  • Act as a thought partner on operating model and structural decisions.
  • Partner closely with HR Business Partners to align on priorities, with HRBPs leading day‑to‑day delivery.

Performance & Organisational Effectiveness

  • Identify and address the root causes of performance challenges across key operational areas.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance team effectiveness, structure, and capability.
  • Shape initiatives that strengthen organisational accountability and leadership effectiveness.

Workforce Planning & Cost Management

  • Own strategic workforce planning aligned to business demand, growth, and cost targets.
  • Contribute to scenario planning and organisational decision‑making.
  • Drive data‑led decision making to optimise workforce efficiency and effectiveness.

Organisation Design & Change

  • Lead organisation design initiatives, including structures, layers, and capability models.
  • Own and guide large‑scale transformation and change programmes.
  • Ensure organisational changes are commercially sound, scalable, and sustainable.
  • Partner with HRBPs to enable effective implementation and embedding of change.

Risk & Complex People Matters

  • Act as an escalation point on complex or sensitive people matters where required.
  • Support leaders to manage risk and make balanced decisions.

Leadership & Talent

  • Partner with HRBPs to shape talent and succession strategies for critical roles.
  • Identify capability gaps and define strategic interventions.
  • Contribute to improving organisational effectiveness, engagement, and retention in key areas.

What are we looking for?

Essential

  • CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience as an HR Business Partner in a complex, fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience managing large‑scale employee bases (500+).
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and workforce planning.
  • Commercial mindset with ability to link people decisions to business outcomes.
  • Comfortable handling of sensitive and complex people matters.
  • Experience with globally distributed teams.
  • No visa sponsorship; the role requires the candidate to be based in the UK.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting operational or service‑led functions (e.g. Operations, Delivery, Support).
  • Experience working in transformation or scaling environments.
  • Experience using data and insight to inform decision‑making.
