We are seeking an experienced CNC Mill-Turn Programmer / Setter / Operator to join our growing aerospace manufacturing team. You will be responsible for producing high-complexity, tight-tolerance aerospace components using Fanuc and/or Mazak controlled mill-turn machine tools. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong technical capability, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality in a regulated aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set, and operate CNC mill-turn machines using Fanuc and/or Mazatrol controls
- Manufacture complex aerospace components to tight tolerances
- Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings and CAD models
- Optimise tooling, cutting strategies, and cycle times while maintaining quality
- Carry out in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment
- Ensure full compliance with quality standards and procedures
- Maintain machine tools, tooling, and a clean, organised work area
- Support continuous improvement and best‑practice manufacturing methods
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a CNC mill‑turn environment
- Strong working knowledge of Fanuc and/or Mazak (Mazatrol) controls
- Desire to produce high‑complexity aerospace components
- Confident reading and interpreting complex technical drawings
- Excellent understanding of tolerances, materials, and machining processes
- Experience working within AS9100 / aerospace quality systems
- A methodical approach with a strong focus on accuracy and repeatability
Desirable (But Not Essential)
- Experience with multi‑axis machining (5‑axis or advanced mill‑turn)
- Knowledge of exotic aerospace materials (e.g. Aerospace steels, Inconel, L605, maraging steel, stainless steels)
- Formal engineering or machining qualifications
