We are seeking a reliable and skilled Recovery Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries, and it would be an advantage if you could drive a 6 car carrier with a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. As a Recovery Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting vehicles to various locations while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of the cargo.

Duties:

  • Operate recovery lorries safely and efficiently to transport vehicles to designated locations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Load and unload cargo, securing it properly to prevent damage during transit.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards throughout the transportation process.

Requirements:

  • Valid driving licence covering 7.5 ton, Class 2 or Class 1.
  • Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with flatbed lorries.
  • Previous delivery driver experience is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills for interaction with clients and team members.
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy items as necessary.

We look forward to welcoming a dedicated Truck Driver who is ready to contribute positively to our operations while ensuring safe and efficient delivery of goods. Hours are 6.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday and every other Saturday 6.30am to 12pm.

We are also looking for experienced skip/RORO, tipper and bulker drivers should you wish to apply.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £32,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Benefits: On-site parking

Ability to commute/relocate: Basildon SS13 1QJ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience: Vehicle Recovery: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification: Category C Licence (preferred), Category CE Licence (preferred)
