This is not a remote position. Candidates must be able to work in our Aberdeen location full time. The electrical estimator will calculate possible costs and gains of construction projects. You will collect and analyze data according to a series of useful variables. The ideal candidate will be very comfortable with numbers and analytics. You must have great attention to detail and excellent communication skills. The goal is to provide the company with accurate estimates. This position reports directly to VP of Estimating.
Duties:
- Acquire understanding of the requirements of the project and provide an accurate estimate.
- Select metrics to produce valid estimates.
- Visit sites, warehouses and other venues to gather essential information.
- Review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data.
- Analyze data and produce forecasts.
- Prepare detailed reports or bids for submission to appropriate parties.
- Select advantageous deals by evaluating offers and quotes.
- Foster relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, architects etc.).
- Familiar with all aspects of electrical codes to produce a design and build an estimate.
- Other duties as assigned involving estimates and or pricing of any change related to items of a project.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an electrical estimator in residential and commercial.
- Experience in electrical field work of at least five (5) years.
- Proven experience as electrical estimator.
- Hands on attitude.
- Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts.
- Deep understanding of research methodology, data analysis and estimation metrics.
- Comfortable with numbers and technology.
- Basic knowledge of estimating software like Viewpoint, ConEst, etc.
- Great attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Well-organized and reliable.
- Attended a certified electrical apprenticeship program.
- Computer experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
