We are looking for an outstanding musician to provide dynamic and innovative percussion teaching at Benenden School for approximately 5 to 7 hours per week, with scope for development.
In our stunning new purpose-built music facilities, you will teach percussion up to and beyond Grade 8 standard, showing initiative and working collaboratively to the benefit of the department and the School.
There may also be opportunities to run percussion and drum line ensembles, coach the percussion section of the Symphony Orchestra, and possibly to teach drum kit.
You will possess experience of teaching secondary age students of varied ability, along with experience of entering and preparing students for exams. You will also demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the student repertoire across a wide range of musical genres.
About the Music Department
The School opened its new purpose-built Music and Concert Hall in June 2022 and all band rooms are equipped with drum kits, well maintained school guitars and new amplifiers. There are also excellent facilities for recording available.
All teaching rooms are equipped with new Yamaha pianos, ample space and beautiful views of the school’s landscaped grounds. The School’s percussion equipment includes two sets of timpani, numerous drum kits (including a new electric one), a vibraphone, glockenspiel, a 5-octave marimba and sets of Samba and Drum Line instruments.
