We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Exercise and Fitness Trainer to join our dynamic and successful PE and Sports Department. The department delivers a wide range of physical education and sporting opportunities, aiming to inspire every student to engage in physical activity, develop skills, and foster a lifelong love of sport. Our core sports include Lacrosse, Hockey, Netball, Cricket, and Tennis, Swimming alongside an extensive programme of fitness and exercise classes.
This role will involve working as a key member of the ‘SPLASH’ team at Benenden School (SPLASH is the name of our pool, sports hall and gym complex). The post-holder will contribute through work in the gym and exercise studio and also assist with ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of ‘SPLASH’ and other sports facilities. The Exercise and Fitness Trainers report to the Director of Sport, and their work will be co-ordinated by the Exercise & Fitness Co-ordinators and the Facilities & Swimming Co-ordinator.
The primary hours of operation for SPLASH are currently 7.00am-9.00pm, Monday to Friday, 10.00am-5.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The shift pattern will be determined as required, to be discussed during interviews. In practice a larger proportion of hours will be worked during term-time with the remaining hours worked during the school holidays. Hours that would normally be worked when the school is closed for exeats or end of terms will be allocated to other hours during the year. Flexibility is a requirement of this position in line with the demands of the year and role. Holiday cannot be taken during term time.
