We are looking for a skilled and motivated Multi-Skilled Technician - Building to join our Estates team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to play a key role in ensuring our buildings and facilities are maintained to the highest standards, providing a safe, compliant, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and colleagues.
Working as part of a dedicated team, you will undertake a wide range of maintenance activities, with a particular focus on carpentry and general building works, while supporting other maintenance disciplines as required.

About the role
- Carry out a variety of maintenance tasks, primarily within carpentry and general building works, but not limited to those trade areas.
- Apply technical skills and knowledge to support planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Ensure Estates & Facilities services are delivered to high-quality standards and meet regulatory requirements.
- Support the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, fixtures, fittings, and infrastructure across the site.
- Follow all national and local Health & Safety policies, procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and service users to deliver an effective maintenance service.
- Provide excellent customer service while responding to maintenance requests and resolving issues efficiently.
- Participate in the on-call rota and, when required, work shifts, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
Skills and experience required
- GCSE education or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience of maintenance work across multiple craft areas, particularly carpentry and building maintenance.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Health & Safety requirements, including risk assessments and safe working practices.
- Relevant Health & Safety training and experience working within compliance frameworks.
- Full, valid driving licence.
- Strong customer care skills with a customer-centred approach.
- Effective verbal communication skills, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with a range of people.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- IT literacy and confidence using digital systems and applications.
- A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
