We’re looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in delivering high-quality management reporting, analysis, and financial insight across the organisation.

About the role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll be at the heart of financial performance — producing accurate management accounts, strengthening balance sheet control, and working closely with departmental managers to drive better decision-making. This is a hands-on, visible role where you’ll combine technical accounting skills with strong communication and business partnering.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Producing timely, accurate monthly management accounts with clear narrative and insight
  • Preparing and reviewing accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Delivering meaningful variance analysis with practical recommendations for improvement
  • Supporting budget holders to better understand their financial performance
  • Ensuring balance sheet integrity and adherence to strong financial controls
  • Building trusted relationships with non-finance stakeholders across the Hospital
  • Supporting continuous improvement in reporting and finance processes
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects and analysis as required

Skills and experience required

  • At least 1 year’s experience in a management accounting role
  • Studying towards or holding a professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail
  • Confident communicator, able to explain financial information to non-finance managers
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable working to deadlines
