About the role
As a valued member of our flexi‑bank team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the efficient running of the ACU. This is a varied and rewarding position where no two days are the same. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare for, and facilitate day surgery theatre or endoscopy lists as required
- Accurately input and maintain patient records on IT systems
- Ensure all patient care areas are safe, compliant, and well‑maintained
- Maintain safe custody and management of medications, including controlled drugs
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior team members
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and professionalism
Skills and experience required
- First level Registered Nurse or HCPC registered ODP
- Significant post‑registration clinical experience
- Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification, or willingness to undertake
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support positive team working
- A strong patient‑centred approach
- Competent in IT systems, including MS Office and web‑based platforms
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and ethical practice
- Post‑registration qualification in a relevant specialty or Degree in Healthcare (or equivalent experience of 5+ years)
- Experience in phlebotomy and ECG monitoring
