Flexi-Bank basis .

As a key member of the team, you will assist with stock management, support pharmacy operations, and provide a welcoming and professional service at the Pharmacy Reception.

About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the stock control of pharmaceutical products, including intravenous fluids and irrigation solutions.
  • Support the ordering, receipt, storage, rotation, and distribution of pharmaceutical stock.
  • Provide assistance to patients and customers at the Pharmacy Reception, ensuring a professional and friendly service.
  • Receive prescriptions from patients and assist with the sale of appropriate General Sales List (GSL) medicines.
  • Assist with the creation, testing, review, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to pharmaceutical stock management.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and support inventory management processes.
  • Follow all Pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacy colleagues to ensure the efficient delivery of services.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment.

Skills and experience required

  • Good understanding of basic mathematical principles with the ability to manipulate numbers and perform basic calculations accurately.
  • Experience and confidence in using computer systems and software applications.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and work accurately within established processes.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Evidence of strong customer service skills and awareness.
  • Ability to undertake the physical demands of the role, including regular lifting and carrying of pharmaceutical boxes.
  • Willingness to undertake and successfully complete an NVQ Level 2 qualification, which is a mandatory requirement of the role (full support will be provided where necessary).
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or similar environment.
  • Previous experience of stock control, inventory management, and record keeping.
  • Understanding of medicines handling processes and pharmacy operations.
