York Full-Time On-site
B

Role: Marketing Planning Manager
Location: York (Hybrid working, 2 days a week in the office)
Salary: £52,000

If you're someone who enjoys bringing order to complexity, improving the way teams work and influencing change, this could be the opportunity for you.

We're looking for a Marketing Planning Manager to play a pivotal role within our growing Marketing Operations team. You'll have a bird's-eye view across the entire marketing function, bringing together plans, budgets, performance and priorities while leading projects that make marketing more efficient, effective and commercially focused.

This is a newly created role with genuine scope to shape how it develops and the impact it has. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you'll help connect teams, improve ways of working and create greater visibility of marketing activity, performance and investment.

Approximately half of your time will be focused on driving operational improvement projects, while the remainder will be spent coordinating our integrated marketing plan, supporting budget management and ensuring leaders have the insight they need to make informed decisions.

You won't be running marketing campaigns yourself. Instead, you'll be the person who brings everything together, helping teams stay aligned, identifying opportunities to improve performance and ensuring we're focused on the activity that delivers the greatest commercial value.

As a business with a long history and a regulated environment, you'll need to balance the pace of change with the controls and governance that help us do the right thing. Success in this role will come from your ability to influence stakeholders, build relationships, challenge constructively and bring people with you on the journey.

What you’ll be doing

  • Coordinating and maintaining a single integrated marketing plan.
  • Providing oversight of marketing activity, budgets, priorities and performance.
  • Producing insights and reporting for senior leaders.
  • Leading projects that improve marketing effectiveness, efficiency and ways of working.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce duplication and improve collaboration.
  • Supporting the adoption of new technology, automation and AI solutions.
  • Working with stakeholders across the business to remove blockers and improve delivery.
  • Acting as the central point of visibility across the marketing function.

What we’re looking for

You don't need to come from a marketing background. We're looking for someone with strong commercial awareness, excellent stakeholder management skills and experience driving operational improvement or business change. You might currently be working in Marketing Operations, Marketing Projects, Campaign Management, Transformation, Business Change or Continuous Improvement.

You'll be someone who:

  • Thinks commercially and understands business priorities.
  • Can confidently influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Enjoys improving processes and finding better ways of working.
  • Brings structure, organisation and clarity to complex situations.
  • Can balance project delivery with day-to-day operational responsibilities.
  • Uses data and insight to support decision-making.
