At Bureau Veritas Commodities, we're looking for a Hot Area Laboratory Technician to join our Metals & Minerals Division in Witham. This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career within a global business, with full training provided and no previous furnace experience required. If you're reliable, safety-conscious, and looking for a role that's more active than a traditional laboratory position, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Accurately weighing and preparing samples.
- Mixing samples using specialised equipment and extracted cupboards.
- Loading samples into crucibles and operating furnace processes.
- Melting materials and pouring small quantities into moulds.
- Handling materials safely using pump trucks and equipment.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Following strict quality, safety and environmental procedures.
This is a varied, hands-on role where precision, teamwork and attention to detail are essential.
What We're Looking For
- Excellent attention to detail
- A positive and reliable approach to work
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts
- GCSE Maths or Science (Grade C/4 or above)
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
