Role Purpose: To generate new business opportunities across Bureau Veritas' Building & Infrastructure Operational Excellence (OPEX) services, including Health & Safety, Fire Risk Assessment, Asbestos, Water Hygiene, Mechanical Inspection and Electrical Testing.
This role is focused on proactive outbound business development, lead qualification and opportunity generation. Working as part of the wider OPEX Sales team, the Junior Business Development Executive will engage with prospective clients, identify their requirements, coordinate with internal technical specialists, and support the delivery of timely quotations and proposals.
The successful candidate will be motivated by achieving sales targets, building client relationships and creating a strong pipeline of opportunities for both immediate and longer-term business growth.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate new sales opportunities through proactive outbound calling, self-generated prospecting activities, and incoming leads from marketing campaigns, website enquiries and referrals.
- Conduct approximately 50-60 outbound calls per day to generate and qualify opportunities across the OPEX service portfolio.
- Engage with prospective clients via telephone and Microsoft Teams to understand their requirements, identify opportunities and gather information to support the quotation process.
- Work collaboratively with technical, operational and commercial teams to ensure appropriate solutions are proposed to meet client needs.
- Deliver quotations and proposals within agreed service levels, with a target turnaround of 48 hours.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through effective lead management and ongoing prospect engagement.
- Manage inbound enquiries received through the sales switchboard and convert these into qualified opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and introduce additional Bureau Veritas services that may provide value to clients.
- Maintain accurate records within the CRM system, ensuring all activities, opportunities, forecasts and next steps are up to date.
- Support Business Development Executives and Business Development Managers in identifying and developing larger or more complex opportunities.
- Contribute to achieving team sales objectives, customer satisfaction targets and business growth plans.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Previous experience in a sales, telesales, lead generation, customer service or business development environment.
- Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls and engaging with prospective customers.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.
- Confident conducting conversations via telephone, Microsoft Teams and email.
- Self-motivated with a proactive, target-driven and resilient approach.
- Commercially aware with the ability to identify sales opportunities and cross-selling potential.
- Strong negotiation and objection-handling skills.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues across technical, operational and commercial teams.
- Comfortable using CRM systems to manage pipelines, opportunities and customer interactions.
