This opportunity is ideal for an ambitious Health & Safety professional looking to develop their consultancy career, work alongside experienced specialists, and progress towards Diploma-level qualifications and Chartered status.

The Opportunity

As a Health & Safety Consultant, you will work closely with clients across a range of sectors, supporting the delivery of operational Health & Safety services and helping organisations build effective safety cultures and management systems.

Key responsibilities include

  • Delivering consultancy projects safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Providing practical Health & Safety advice and technical guidance to clients.
  • Supporting audits, inspections, and management system reviews.
  • Producing high-quality reports, technical documents, and client recommendations.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Assisting with proposals and responding to client enquiries.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant legislation, standards, and industry best practice.
  • Supporting the delivery of the Bureau Veritas Solutions business plan and growth objectives.
  • Monitoring project performance, utilisation, and key performance indicators.
  • Working collaboratively within the wider consulting team and contributing to knowledge sharing.

This is a hands-on consultancy role offering excellent exposure to varied client environments, experienced mentors, and significant professional development opportunities.

About You

  • Have experience in a Health & Safety advisory, consultancy, or operational role.
  • Are confident engaging with clients and stakeholders at different levels.
  • Have a good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and guidance.
  • Enjoy solving problems and delivering practical, proportionate solutions.
  • Are looking to develop their technical and consultancy skills.
  • Are committed to their long-term professional development.

Essential Requirements

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting Health & Safety activities in an operational or advisory capacity.
  • Working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites as required.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • NEBOSH Diploma or currently working towards Diploma level
  • IOSH membership (Graduate, Technical, or working towards Chartered status)
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety
  • Level 3 Certificate in Fire Safety/ Fire Risk Assessment
  • Experience in conducting Fire Risk Assessments
  • Experience working across multiple sites or within client-facing environments
  • Exposure to management systems and auditing, including ISO 45001
  • Previous consultancy experience.
