About The Role

Ecclesiastical Insurance, part of Benefact Group, is looking for an Underwriter to join our Gloucester office. You will deliver exceptional customer service as part of an underwriting team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop, negotiate, and profitably underwrite new or existing business within own authority and in line with Ecclesiastical strategy.
  • Plan, prioritise and manage individual work to deliver agreed objectives and meet SLAs.
  • Use appropriate communication methods (telephone, face to face) to support a right first‑time approach.
  • Act on audit results and action plans within deadlines to improve performance.
  • Identify complaints and act upon them in line with company policy.
  • Expand technical and niche knowledge through informal and formal learning.

What You’ll Need to Have

  • The ability to plan, prioritise and manage own work to deliver objectives and meet targets.
  • Understanding, managing and using information accurately.
  • Competent IT and data skills, including Microsoft suite.
  • Effective and appropriate communication skills.
  • Commitment to deliver exceptional service as an individual and team member.
  • Understanding of relevant regulations to deliver good customer outcomes.
  • Understanding of data protection and confidentiality.
