About the role

Lloyd & Whyte, who are proudly part of Benefact Group, are looking for a Schemes Development Manager to join our SEIB team in their South Ockendon office. As a Schemes Development Manager, you will work closely with the Schemes Manager identifying opportunities to develop new schemes, enhance existing propositions and expand our digital trading capability. This includes exploring complementary products for existing schemes, identifying potential scheme acquisition opportunities, and helping maximise the investment in online platforms that allow scheme products to be traded 24/7 via dedicated e-trade sites. This is a hands-on role offering across sectors such as charities, equestrian, funeral directors, motor trade, private hire, and property owners.

What you'll be doing

  • Identify opportunities for new schemes, complementary products, or enhancements to existing propositions.
  • Assist with scheme reviews, renewal discussions, and performance reporting.
  • Support product governance requirements and ensure delegated authority controls are maintained.
  • Analyse scheme performance indicators including GWP, loss ratios, claims trends, retention, and new business conversion.
  • Support the Schemes Manager with oversight of the existing schemes portfolio.
  • Act as deputy to the Schemes Manager during periods of absence.

What you'll need to have

  • Confident and capable of building rapport over the telephone to provide excellent client experience.
  • Experience within consumer or commercial insurance, preferably within a broker environment.
  • Understanding of FCA requirements including ICOBS, PROD and Consumer Duty.
  • Comfortable working with data and MI to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Confident communicator able to build relationships with insurers and internal teams.
