About the role
Benefact Group are looking for a Project Manager on a 6 month contract to join our Gloucester office. As a Project Manager you will manage the effective delivery of an upgraded insurance platform and upgraded reinsurance platform run from an in-house on-premises system to a supplier managed cloud solution. This will include managing the supplier and internal resources to deliver both upgrades and cloud migration within the time, cost and quality parameters.
What you'll be doing
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex system upgrades and cloud migrations, ensuring alignment with architecture, regulatory standards, and business objectives.
- Drive structured planning and governance, including impact assessments, regression testing, cutover/rollback strategies, DR testing, and controlled change management.
- Ensure compliance and operational readiness, validating functional, non‑functional, security, data, and regulatory requirements across insurance and reinsurance environments.
- Manage and govern third‑party suppliers, holding them accountable for delivery, quality, timelines, budgets, and integration into project governance and risk processes.
- Provide strong programme leadership, including integrated planning, financial governance, senior‑level decision support, and escalation of risks with clear analysis and recommendations.
What you'll need to have
- Proven experience delivering complex IT system upgrades for Insurance Policy Admin systems and Reinsurance systems
- Experience migrating complex IT platforms from on prem to MS Azure Cloud
- Previous experience managing multiple 3rd party suppliers including active supplier management
- Previous experience managing projects with budgets >£1.5m
- Ability to influence up to Director level and influence steering groups at Exec level
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams including technical, business readiness and non-technical scope and dependencies
- Delivering to demanding timescales while maintaining a motivated team
- Experience of working with different methodologies such as waterfall or Agile (SCRUM) to meet the required project outcome
- Analytical mind set, the ability to think laterally identifying root causes and confident in making recommendations.
- Experience of using the Microsoft 365 suite alongside Atlassian toolset (Jira) to manage and track projects.
