About the role
Ecclesiastical Insurance, part of Benefact Group, are looking for two graduates to join our 2026 General Insurance Management Graduate Programme in our Gloucester office.

This opportunity is a two-and-a-half-year programme that provides exposure to all aspects of our General Insurance business, enabling you to build both technical and commercial expertise. At Ecclesiastical Insurance, our General Insurance teams protect what matters most across a wide range of sectors including specialist niches of Property Owners, Leisure, Education, Care, Charity, Heritage, Faith and Office Professions.
What to expect
Throughout the programme, you will gain hands-on experience by working on live business projects that deepen your understanding of our core operations and the wider insurance industry. You will collaborate with senior leaders, learn from their expertise, and connect with a supportive network of past graduates across our group. By the end of the scheme, you’ll have the knowledge, experience, and confidence to start shaping your long-term future with Ecclesiastical Insurance.
What you'll be doing
When you join Ecclesiastical Insurance, you will receive a tailored induction and will be assigned both a business mentor and buddy to provide support throughout the programme. The scheme’s structure combines focused business placements in General Insurance, where you will be involved in the delivery of strategic business initiatives. Towards the end of the programme, you will have an extended placement in a focused role within General Insurance that will draw upon your wider business awareness. The expectation is that on completion you will move into a business-critical role and use this as a ‘next step’ towards becoming a leader or technical specialist in our business. As part of this programme, you’ll get full training and study support to complete the ACII qualification - an Advanced Diploma in Insurance, a globally recognised professional qualification from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) that provides an advanced understanding of insurance practice, market knowledge, and application skills.
What you'll need to have
- A minimum of a 2:1 degree
- Track record of success in education, work experience, extra-curricular activities or volunteering
- Able to demonstrate where you have taken on responsibility or delivered in challenging circumstances
- An ability to work independently as well as in a team, with strong relationship building skills
- Highly effective communication (both written and verbal) with critical reasoning and analytical skills
- Desire to learn and apply learning in the workplace, showing your ability to study alongside a demanding work programme
- Able to demonstrate an alignment with our group values and culture
- Effective planning and prioritisation skills, balancing multiple deliverables to a high standard
- Proficient IT skills in MS Office
