About the role
Lloyd & Whyte, who are proudly part of Benefact Group, are looking for an Equine Insurance Team Leader to join our Equestrian Sales Team in their South Ockendon office. The role holder will be responsible for supporting and managing a team of Equine new business staff, including monitoring performance, providing feedback for development and training, and conducting performance reviews. Key responsibilities
- Conduct department meetings and keep regular communication with other departments
- Proactively use the Call Recording System for training and development
- Generate and follow up leads from all possible company sources
- Produce relevant statistics as requested by the Directors
- Ensure that all quotations and any subsequent business are within any authority binded to us by any insurance company(ies)
- Utilize outward bound phone contact with clients to assist in the conversion of sales
- Maintain full and accurate information on all enquiries and quotations and regularly evaluate reasons for success and failure to secure business
- Sell all of the company’s scheme products
- Underwrite new business within our delegated authority
- Refer to Insurers where required – outside our delegated authority
- Develop effective and productive behaviour with our capacity providers
- Handle complaints and provide evidence/timeline of events to compliance
- Train and develop the team to achieve levels of authority and evidencing this
- Assist with competitor ring rounds at least twice a year
- Assist in setting Department KPIs/targets and expectations as well as individual targets/expectations
- Carry out appraisals twice a year for each team member with the Department Manager
- Maintain awareness of the market – what competitors are doing and where we sit within the market
- Prepare monthly reports – Figures for Managers meetings (attend in absence of Manager) and for board reports quarterly
Knowledge, skills and experience
- A strong people leader with effective people management skills, with the ability to set and monitor clear objectives and KPIs
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- A real team player, willing and able to support colleagues and achieve greater collective wisdom in the team
- Proven ability to build productive relationships internally and externally
- Knowledge of the Equine sectors/markets
- Strong technical ability to deal with UW referrals
- Practical experience of quickly implementing new initiatives
- Ensure all work is efficiently and appropriately distributed and prioritised to meet business expectations
- Comfortable with selling and excellent relationships with clients
- Proven track record of managing both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to contribute to senior leadership discussions on strategy development and execution
- Planning and project management skills, with the ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously
- Able to adjust priorities according to business needs
