About the role

Ecclesiastical Planning Services, who are proudly part of Benefact Group, are looking for a Business Systems Consultant to join our Gloucester office. As part of the Data and Controls team, this role acts as the ‘business voice’ within EPSL projects and ongoing initiatives, ensuring strong alignment between business priorities and delivery outcomes. The role works closely with key stakeholders to shape and influence activities, helping to guide delivery in line with timelines, strategic objectives, and evolving business needs. It plays a central role in maintaining clear communication, supporting effective decision-making, and enabling successful execution of change and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll be doing

  • Drive business process and system improvement: identify, prioritise, and support enhancements across key operational and technology areas.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders: gather requirements, understand challenges, and align on desired outcomes across business teams, technology, and external suppliers.
  • Lead product and roadmap management: manage backlogs, prioritisation, and development across multiple products within the technology estate.
  • Act as the bridge between business and technology — ensure clear communication, readiness for change, and smooth implementation and adoption of new solutions.
  • Support data, reporting, and documentation — maintain accurate process documentation, understand core systems, and contribute to data outputs and ad‑hoc departmental projects.

What you'll need to have

  • Ability to interpret, process, and clearly articulate complex information
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with a proactive and self-motivated approach
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships at all levels, both internal and external
  • Flexible approach with a strong team-oriented mindset and collaborative approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, SharePoint, Visio, and MS Teams
  • Experience working with in-house or back-office systems
  • Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
