Role Description

The Electronics Engineer will work mostly on-site in our Bristol site in a full-time capacity, contributing to the design and development of modular drive systems for unmanned robotic platforms.

Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and reviewing electronic circuits, selecting components, and integrating electronics into mechanical and software systems.

The role involves developing test plans, performing functional and reliability testing, troubleshooting issues, and lots of hands on assembly, wiring, and rework.

Our engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, prepare technical documentation, and support manufacturing and production teams with design handover and issue resolution.

This position also includes contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and supporting prototype builds and field evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Electronic Engineering and Electrical Engineering for system-level design and integration.
  • Proficiency in Circuit Design and practical Electronics for creating and validating schematics and PCB layouts.
  • Experience with Testing of electronic systems, including validation, verification, and fault diagnosis.
  • Relevant education in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to read and create technical documentation, including specifications, test reports, and design notes.
  • Skill with tools such as PCB design software, electronic simulation tools, and standard laboratory equipment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with attention to safety and quality standards.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Experience with robotics, motor control, or embedded systems is advantageous.
