Business Development Director (B2B marketing agency)
Business Development Director (B2B marketing agency)
Beneath is a small B2B marketing agency doing big things. B2B tech is our niche, and we’re lucky enough to work with some very cool brands in enterprise software, adtech, global telecommunications, and more. Our client roster stretches from smaller scale-ups, to billion-dollar players on both sides of the Atlantic. We’re a remote agency, but we get together in London occasionally for training and socials.
Through positioning, branding, campaigns and content, we deliver effective marketing with depth and quality. In our sixth year of steady growth, we want to get serious about our lead generation and take better control of that growth.
You
You’re a business development professional with 8+ years of proven experience generating, progressing and helping to close sales opportunities for the following types of marketing agency projects: positioning, branding, campaigns and content. B2B agency experience is essential, ideally B2B tech marketing. You bring your own network, methods and expertise, while integrating into our existing agency processes and ways of working. You’ll have the full support of our founders, our Digital Director, and wider team members.
You’re happy working remotely. As an agency we want team members to embrace the freedoms and opportunities remote working can offer, and to make hours work for them and their families. Prioritising flexibility and a healthier work/life balance is good for us, and good for the agency.
We think we’re after a Business Development person at Director level, but will consider similar senior candidates.
Responsibilities
- Develop our agency new business sales strategy (in collaboration with agency leaders) to drive outbound lead gen and complement our inbound campaign work
- Execute on that strategy by targeting, prospecting, building relationships, opening doors and supporting us in closing deals with the right decision-makers, especially in B2B scale-ups, mid-level and large enterprises
- Draw on a network of relevant prospects (our clients are mainly in NA and Europe), in close collaboration with our Digital Director (who manages our databases and our existing inbound and outbound campaigns)
- Work with us to create presentations and proposals during the intro and scoping stages
- Define and hit targets for net-new growth
- Potential to support in farming existing accounts and relationships
- Ultimately, be a true team player that builds and manages a strong pipeline of new business opportunities to drive our agency’s growth
The opportunity
This is the perfect fit for someone who wants to take initiative and control of business development at an up-and-coming agency (we’re in the top ten of those, according to B2B Marketing), and have an outsized influence on our growth trajectory.
The role
- Business Development Director
- Full-time
- Remote but regular meet-ups in London – offices are so 2019
- Performance-based (SQL meetings; closed net-new revenue) bonus structure to be discussed –your impact will be rewarded
