At Bending Spoons, we’re striving to build one of the all-time great companies. A company that serves a huge number of customers and where team members grow to their full potential while adhering to high ethical standards. To achieve this objective, we acquire a digital business with untapped potential and make it successful by leveraging our platform, which comprises our expertise, technologies, data, brand, talents, and company culture.

This role is for a technically rigorous accountant who wants to work on genuinely hard accounting problems—multi-entity consolidations, acquisition due diligence, US GAAP and IFRS alignment—and who has the ambition to automate everything that doesn’t need a human brain attached to it.

A few examples of your responsibilities:

  • Technical accounting: Prepare and own financial statements under US GAAP, with IFRS alignment where required. Exercise judgment on revenue recognition, consolidation, and intercompany flows.
  • Financial planning and control: Produce reporting that drives decisions, collaborate with cross-functional teams on budget management, and ensure fiscal policies hold up as the business scales.
  • Audit and controls: Build and improve internal controls, and facilitate external and internal audits.
  • Equity plans: Manage and optimize equity plans—implement, support team members, and evolve the program as it grows.

What we look for:

  • Reasoning ability: Solve complex problems and think from first principles.
  • Drive: Extremely ambitious and responsible for your work.
  • Team spirit: Support the best idea and help your team.
  • Proficiency in English: Read, write, and speak proficiently.

What we offer:

  • Incredibly talented, entrepreneurial teams.
  • An exceptional opportunity for growth.
  • Competitive pay and access to equity in the company.
  • A flexible start date and part-time options.
  • All benefits including flexible hours, remote working, health insurance, and generous parental support.

Commitment & contract: Permanent or fixed-term, full-time. Location: Milan (Italy), London (UK), Madrid (Spain), Warsaw (Poland) or remote in selected countries.

The selection process prioritises verifiable signals of excellence. If you like the role and believe you could excel over time, don’t self-reject. We set the bar high and won’t extend an offer until we’re confident we’ve found the right candidate.

If the role speaks to you and you’re excited to give your best, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now—we can’t wait to meet you.
