The Electrical Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the commissioning, service, repair, and rapid response support of Bender Medical IT systems (IPS), Theatre Control Panels, operating lights, medical tables, turnkey theatre solutions, and Bender Industrial products. Working across healthcare and industrial environments, including NHS Trusts and private medical facilities, the role ensures systems are installed, tested, and maintained to the highest standards of safety, performance, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Commissioning and servicing of medical IT systems, surgeons control panels, theatre operating lights, medical tables and pendants.
- Servicing 3rd party equipment as above.
- Forming part of a call out system and responding within required timescales.
- Logging all cases and call outs when working out of hours.
- Representing Bender UK in the best light possible through delivering excellent customer service.
- This role will be on site dealing with end customers, contractors and hospital staff.
- Completing job specific risk assessments and method statements.
- Support the Industrial Team for on-site technical commissioning and servicing as required.
- Provide remote service monitoring and data analysis.
- Providing on-site training to customers on Bender supplied equipment.
- Attending site meetings as required; uploading programmes on completion of projects.
- Working closely with all departments within Bender UK, promoting cross functional working and one team approach.
Qualifications Skills & Experience
- Strong time management, planning, and prioritisation skills.
- JIB Gold Card SSSTS Card would be preferable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
- Experience working within NHS or healthcare environments.
- Experience with Medical IT (IPS), surgeons control panels, theatre operating lights and medical tables.
- UPS systems, Auto change over systems and PLCs.

Salary and Benefits
- Salary: £42,000 (based on 37.5 hours per week including an average of 20 hours out-of-hours work per month)
- Additional Pay: Up to £20,000 (for overtime and / or out-of-hours work beyond what is covered in the salary)
- Bonus: Eligible to participate in the annual company bonus scheme
- Car Entitlement: A company van will be provided
- Holiday Entitlement: 25 days + 8 bank holidays with a buy/sell leave scheme in place at the start of each holiday year
