JewelCast is primarily a casting company specialising in high quality precious metal castings. In addition to this we offer an exciting range of in-house CAD design, 3D printing and mould cutting services.
We have recently moved into a beautifully restored building in the heart of Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, and the new site features modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment in each department.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has come up within our Quality Control Department.
The position will be working with precious metal castings to make sure they are thoroughly checked to a high standard before sending out to our customers. The role will require a variety of skills, to see the castings through from start to finish. Laser welding and bench skills will be needed through this process. There is an element of administrative work, when booking orders out at the final stage. The ideal candidate should be a team player with a keen eye for detail, capable of working under pressure, and good at problem solving.
Responsibilities
- Cutting / sawing castings
- Matching castings to orders
- Laser welding and repairing castings
- Quality control of castings
- Problem solving and investigating technical problems
- Working with a variety of precious metals
- Administration duties- booking out orders and weighing metal
Requirements
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Laser welding experience (this training can be given if not already experienced)
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced team environment
- Knowledge of the industry would be a benefit

We are very lucky to call the historic Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham our home and we are proud to be a part of a wonderful community and trade.
Since we started, we have continued to grow and evolve which has allowed us to adapt to the ever-changing market and needs of our customers and seen us invest in and embrace new technology such as 3D printing.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our castings with thorough Quality Control checks throughout the casting process and with staff who are extremely knowledgeable and with a passion for what they do.
