About The London Art Works
The London Art Works is a high-end fine jewellery manufacturing workshop in Hatton Garden, producing fine and high jewellery in platinum and gold for some of the most established names in the trade.
We work to the highest standards of the craft, combining traditional bench craftsmanship with modern manufacturing technique.
That standard is the foundation of the business and is not compromised.
The Role
Working closely with our workshop, design and management teams, you will oversee the day-to-day planning, organisation and coordination of production, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the standard our clients expect.
- Planning, organising and scheduling production across multiple projects.
- Managing commissions and stock production from initial brief through to completion.
- Prioritising workloads and coordinating production deadlines.
- Preparing accurate quotations and production costings from design briefs.
- Monitoring costs and ensuring projects remain within agreed budgets.
- Liaising closely with our workshop, design team, suppliers, manufacturers and outworkers.
- Sourcing suppliers and manufacturing solutions, and negotiating terms.
- Monitoring work in progress and proactively resolving production issues and delays.
- Managing stock holdings and stock control systems, and maintaining production records.
- Identifying process improvements and investigating new technologies, suppliers and techniques.
- Developing and expanding the workshop's manufacturing knowledge and capability.
- What We Are Looking For
Essential
- Extensive experience in production management, manufacturing or a comparable operational role.
- A strong understanding of workshop and production environments.
- Strong production planning and scheduling skills.
- Experience preparing quotations, costings and production budgets.
- Commercial awareness and confidence working with figures.
- Supplier sourcing and negotiation skills.
- Experience with stock control systems and accurate reporting.
- Excellent organisational, written and verbal communication skills.
- Competent with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- The ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure without allowing quality to drop.
- A demonstrable record of maintaining exacting quality standards consistently, not occasionally.
Desirable
- Technical knowledge of fine jewellery production and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of diamonds and precious metals.
- Existing contacts within the jewellery trade - suppliers, outworkers and specialist manufacturers.
- Working knowledge of Xero.
- The Person
The successful candidate will be proactive, accountable and comfortable taking ownership and making decisions.
You will have a positive, flexible and solutions-focused approach, respond well under pressure, and have the ingenuity to find the right manufacturing solution, supplier or process when challenges arise.
Above all, you must be capable of maintaining the highest standards consistently.
We manufacture at the top end of the market and the quality of our work does not vary with pressure, volume or deadline.
You will understand how to balance cost and delivery without ever allowing the standard of the work to slip.
Please note: this is a production management and administrative position.
There is no bench work involved.
Previous bench experience or technical jewellery knowledge would be beneficial, but the role itself is focused on the planning, management and coordination of production.
Package
- Five weeks' annual holiday plus public holidays - 33 days in total.
- Private healthcare.
- Employer pension contributions.
The position is full time and permanent, based on site at our Hatton Garden workshop.
