The predicted salary is between 11.7 - 14.3 £ per hour.

We are looking for an experienced Jewellery Consultant to join our independent contemporary jewellery gallery in North London. This is not a general retail sales role. We are seeking someone with proven fine jewellery sales experience who is passionate about exceptional customer service, contemporary design and craftsmanship. You will be confident advising clients on significant purchases, bespoke commissions, engagement and wedding rings, repairs and aftercare, while delivering a warm, knowledgeable and highly personalised experience.

Working within a small, dedicated team, you'll help create an inspiring environment for our customers, whether they're visiting the gallery or shopping with us online.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service in-store, over the phone and via email, responding to enquiries with professionalism, warmth and efficiency.
  • Confidently guide clients through fine jewellery purchases, bespoke commissions, engagement rings and wedding bands.
  • Build long-term client relationships by providing a highly personalised and memorable customer experience.
  • Manage customer projects from initial consultation through to completion, ensuring clear communication throughout.
  • Liaise confidently with designers and workshops regarding bespoke commissions, repairs, remodelling, production updates and aftercare.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the gallery, maintaining an immaculate retail environment and high visual merchandising standards.
  • Assist with inventory management, receiving deliveries, pricing stock and preparing jewellery for photography and display.
  • Process and dispatch online orders with care and attention to detail.
  • Monitor packaging and gallery supplies.
  • Act as a knowledgeable ambassador for our designers, confidently explaining craftsmanship, materials and manufacturing techniques.
  • Follow all operational and security procedures to maintain the safety and integrity of the gallery.

Skills, Experience & Competencies

Essential

  • Proven experience in fine jewellery sales is essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of precious metals, gemstones, diamonds and fine jewellery craftsmanship.
  • Strong understanding of bespoke jewellery commissions, workshop processes, manufacturing techniques, repairs and remodelling.
  • Confident managing high-value sales and building lasting client relationships.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with excellent email etiquette.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to multitask across sales, administration and operational responsibilities.
  • Warm, professional and proactive approach with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Passion for contemporary jewellery, independent designers and craftsmanship.
  • Available to work weekdays, weekends (including Sundays) and key trading periods such as Christmas.

Desirable

  • Gemmology qualifications or formal jewellery education.
  • Experience working within an independent jewellery gallery or luxury fine jewellery retailer.
  • Experience with inventory and stock management systems.
  • An interest in contemporary art, design and craftsmanship.
