David Mellor Family Jewellers is an independent, family-run business established in Hampshire in 1976. Now led by second-generation Mellors, we have grown from market trading to multiple successful stores across the region.

In 2022, our Eastleigh store relocated and expanded within the Swan Centre, bringing our Jewellery Repair & Manufacturing Workshop to a larger space. This has allowed us to grow our skilled team of Goldsmiths to meet increasing demand.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Jeweller/Goldsmith to join our busy workshop. You will work to a high standard across all aspects of jewellery repair and manufacture, supporting the wider team and meeting strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out all types of jewellery repairs, including chain repairs, ring sizing, retipping and vintage restorations
  • Remodel customer jewellery into new designs
  • Clean, assemble and polish castings to a very high standard
  • Rhodium plating
  • Confident use of a laser welder
  • Provide technical advice on repairs and manufacture to colleagues
  • Manage workload efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Maintain a clean, organised workspace and support the workshop team

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ bench experience
  • Strong repair and restoration skills
  • Excellent polishing and finishing standards
  • Good communication, punctuality and time management
  • Team-focused attitude

Desirable Skills

  • Stone setting
  • CAD experience

Reporting to Workshop Manager

Job Type Full-time, 5 days per week, incl one in four Saturdays

Salary Competitive, dependent on experience
