About the Role
A talented and meticulous Design Illustrator / Jewellery Designer is sought to join the Creative Team at one of London’s high jewellery houses. This is a unique opportunity to work on both bespoke client commissions and exclusive stock pieces, contributing to every stage of the design and production process.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed hand drawn and painted illustrations of designs for clients and stock pieces.
- Execute wax carving for client and stock orders; all waxes to be approved by Head of Production prior to spruing, hollowing, archiving, and casting.
- Collaborate with the Production Team to ensure all designs are accurately prepared for quotation, including photocopying, writing up, archiving, and computer entry.
- Ensure designs are approved before progressing to production.
- Assist in managing the full lifecycle of a piece – from initial sketch to delivery – within tight deadlines.
- Liaise with workshops and external suppliers to ensure the highest quality execution.
- Assist with delivery and collection from the Assay Office and various outworkers when required.
- Maintain organisation and cleanliness of the design and waxing benches and filing systems.
- Provide administrative support including document filing and design archiving.
- Prioritise workflows to meet client deadlines and manage cost budgets effectively.
Requirements
- HND / BA in Jewellery Design, Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, or a similar discipline.
- Proven ability to draw and hand paint jewellery designs to scale with precision.
- Strong wax carving and modelling skills for master creation.
- Competency with CAD design software, Illustrator, Paint, and Adobe Photoshop.
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping processes is desirable.
- Jewellery benchwork experience and knowledge of jewellery production techniques is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects to deadline.
- Comfortable working closely with a small, collaborative team in a fast paced environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office.
