We work closely with a trusted network of skilled makers, alongside our in-house team, to bring each piece to life with the same attention to detail, quality and integrity that defines our brand. From initial sketch to final finish, every stage is carefully considered.

As bespoke jewellery maker & designer at Maya Magal you will be instrumental in the design and production of some of our most exciting pieces of jewellery. Your goldsmithing expertise will allow you to speak confidently one-on-one with clients about their dream piece of jewellery and your design capabilities will help bring each project to life. This is a hybrid role that allows you to channel your creativity into unique designs and push your craft abilities in creating them from scratch and with CAD. Alongside these main aspects of the role you will carry out administrative tasks that ensure the smooth running of the workshop.

  • Managing the smooth running of the workshop; ordering supplies and tools, operating and upkeeping the range of equipment in the studio
  • Sourcing gemstones from a range of suppliers to design around and present to clients
  • Liaising with Hatton Garden subcontractors like stone setters, casting houses and quality controlling the work carried out under the MM name
  • Designing and producing one-off style engagement rings to be sold in store under the MM brand name

Administrative

  • Client Relations: you are expected to work efficiently via email, video call and phone call to turn new enquiries into sales opportunities. Following MM internal systems using google forms/sheets, you will then hold in-person design consultations to close the sale
  • Bookkeeping: maintaining records of invoices from Hatton Garden subcontractors including stone setters, bullion dealers, gemstone suppliers, CAD designers etc. This will be done whilst upholding a good working relationship with all vendors. You will work alongside our accountants in google sheets to track expenditure
  • Providing quotes/costs for each unique design and assigning a strict budget to each job and intuitively managing each design as a mini-project to maximise profitability
  • Upholding company and lawful standards with regards to health and safety in the workshop, along with security protocols typical of working with high value gemstones, quantities of gold and customers’ own sentimental pieces of jewellery
  • Providing valuations and certificates of authenticity where appropriate following MM guidelines
