A well-established civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong pipeline of live and upcoming work, delivering packages for major civils and infrastructure projects. The role offers involvement across the full commercial lifecycle of multiple schemes and would suit someone with a strong background in infrastructure and civil engineering who is looking for their next permanent role to further establish their career.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for a number of civil engineering and infrastructure projects working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably and in line with the programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the full commercial lifecycle from pre-start through to final account
- Preparing and reviewing cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
- Producing valuations, applications for payment, and cost reports
- Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and account agreements
- Assessing and managing variations, change control, and compensation events
- Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice and cost management
- Monitoring project performance and identifying risks and opportunities
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, site teams, and subcontractors
- Ensuring timely commercial close-out of projects
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor role
- Strong background within civil engineering and infrastructure
- Good understanding of cost control, valuations, variations, and final accounts
