Our client, an established and reputable civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced and driven Bid Manager to join their Midlands-based team. You’ll play a pivotal role in securing high-profile civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the Midlands and beyond.
The Role
As Bid Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind the tendering success. Working closely with the estimating, planning, commercial, and technical teams, you’ll manage the full bid life-cycle – from initial strategy development through to final submission and client presentation.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead bid management process from PQQ to ITT and post-tender clarifications
- Develop winning strategies, bid plans and compelling content aligned with client needs
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality submissions
- Write, review, and polish written proposals with consistency and impact
- Maintain bid library and ensure knowledge-sharing across teams
- Engage with the wider business on pipeline opportunities and market intelligence
The ideal candidate
- Proven experience managing bids for Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors or consultancies
- Strong understanding of UK construction procurement, frameworks, and contract types (JCT, NEC)
- Exceptional organisation, attention to detail, and time management
