About the Role
Itβs an enormous pleasure to be representing Support Dogs in their search for a Legacy and Relationship Officer, which is a new role for the charity due to growth. Support Dogs are a national charity who support the lives of people affected by autism, epilepsy and disability, they were founded over 30 years ago and have supported countless families over that time. Support Dogs have huge plans over the next twelve months, and as such are strengthening their fundraising team with a Legacy and Relationship Officer to specifically assist with developing income from legacies and gifts in wills, this will in turn mean they will be able to support more families than ever before.
Responsibilities
- Reporting into the Head of Fundraising, the successful candidate will lead on legacy giving which will include the marketing and promotion of this form of giving.
- Managing relationships with existing legacy pledgers.
- Developing relationships with new and existing legacy pledgers.
- Acting as the first point of contact for all legacy enquiries both internally and externally.
- Responsibility for the planning and delivery of a programme to promote legacy giving to help grow their pipeline of legacy supporters, including producing marketing material such as newsletters.
- Developing and managing relationships with solicitors, funeral directors, and National Free Will Network as well as other charity organisations to help grow legacy income for the charity.
- Assisting with the organisation of 2-3 charity events each year.
- Working in collaboration with the Head of Fundraising to achieve financial targets and budgets through fundraising activities.
- Supporting the fundraising team by attending relevant networking events.
- Producing reports as required to provide data insight on legacy activity.
Qualifications

- Previous experience working within fundraising.
- Experienced in managing donor relationships.
- Exceptional customer care and able to build strong and lasting relationships.
- Confident in marketing strategies and activities.
- Ability to track progress and report data to senior management.

- Able to use own initiative.
