Senior Sponsorship Sales Manager – London 4 days in office

Our granular expert focus on the entire supply chain makes us unique: from lithium and cobalt mining through to the manufacturing of cathode and anode functional materials, to battery cell and EV production. Our series of price assessments and data methodologies allow us to collect our proprietary data from the source, creating data that is relied upon by the industry to make multi‑billion‑dollar investment decisions that accelerate the energy storage revolution.

Role: This is an integral role within Benchmark’s global events team, with responsibility for maximising commercial opportunities and revenues across a portfolio of paid‑for large‑scale conferences and smaller in‑market summits. You will be responsible for identifying high‑value partnership opportunities, designing compelling and creative sponsorship packages, and securing strategic brand relationships. This position is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of the events industry, strong commercial instincts, and a proven ability to sell experiential sponsorship packages for in‑person events. Reporting to the Head of Events Strategy, your primary responsibility is to secure marketing spend across a range of sponsor‑lead events. The role will require you to work alongside our Conference Producers to ensure sponsorship is aligned with the broader company objectives of providing world‑leading events for senior stakeholders from across energy transition supply chains. Beyond direct sales, you will also be encouraged to think creatively about how we offer marketing opportunities across our events portfolio and be given the freedom to develop new sponsorable event concepts and features that align strategically with company targets.

Key responsibilities:

  • Grow sponsorship revenues from an allocated client base.
  • Manage interactions with existing clients and nurture new client networks in your client allocation throughout the year.
  • Coordinate with other areas of the Events team and wider business to ensure sponsorships align with company objectives and culture.
  • Grow and develop a set of accounts which maximise marketing spend across Benchmark’s event portfolio.
  • Research and identify new prospective clients and revenue streams with our internal team, and primary research at desk and in market.

Requirements:

  • Personable attitude with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and represent Benchmark.
  • Organised and structured approach to maintain an ongoing sales cycle throughout the year across a growing set of clients.
  • Motivated to maintain and grow a book of business, independently researching new prospective clients.
  • Good communication skills: able to interact with the internal team and external clients.
  • Able to work from Benchmark’s central London office 3 to 4 days a week.
  • Occasional international travel to Benchmark and industry events, and in person client meetings is expected.
  • To work within the scale‑up culture and mentality of Team Benchmark, which can require continuing to operate and undertake day to day duties while travelling, including in some cases weekend work to ensure events delivery.
