Our granular expert focus on the entire supply chain makes us unique: from lithium and cobalt mining through to the manufacturing of cathode and anode functional materials, to battery cell and EV production. Purpose: You will be responsible for generating delegate sales revenue and managing the delegate sales campaigns for Benchmark’s series of paid for industry events. This consists of personally delivering on commercial targets within an assigned set of existing and new business clients. The role will require strategic planning and messaging to key audience groups, execution of said plans, utilising in house resources and collaborating.
Responsibilities:
- This role focuses on reaching out to both new business leads and existing clients to sell tickets for each of Benchmark’s paid for events that take place during the year.
- Search for target business opportunities, identifying prospects, partners, and stakeholders to scope sales opportunities and upselling opportunities.
- Engage with customers effectively, understand their needs, and articulate effective solutions via our range of premium events and products.
- Manage the follow-up of the projects on our CRM system and the sales pipeline daily.
- Engage and explain to prospects the events offers and event features and benefits.
- Feedback market information to Product Managers as well as reflecting this in your feedback to the senior sales teams.
- Continually expand your knowledge and expertise around our product offer and keep up to date with sector developments and your own skills development.
- Meet and/or exceed the sales and KPI targets set.
- Coordinate and follow up with internal stakeholders and prospects regularly using the company sales software and control systems, ensuring sales data is up to date each day.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Proven previous relevant experience working in a delegate sales environment.
- You don’t need specific industry knowledge to be successful in this role, but previous experience in an event selling role would be an advantage.
Personal Characteristics:
- Good communication, both verbal and written and able to comfortably speak to all levels up to C level.
- Good listener, ability to understand customer requirements and relate them to the available offer made.
- High levels of resilience, determination, and persistence.
- Good attention to detail when sending emails to customers and inputting information into the CRM platform.
- Ability to deal with deadlines in a fast-paced commercial environment, meeting the needs of your customers.
- Ability to be flexible to deal with the global nature of the role.
- Well organised and self-motivated, with an ability to prioritise effectively.
- Excellent people skills and confident when client-facing.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
