Our company is expanding to welcome new team members from around the world across a number of business functions. Benchmark’s Events business forms a strategic part of our market intelligence ecosystem, building communities for existing and new clients around high quality sessions, which host the industry’s leading stakeholders.
We are hiring a Conference Producer to be based in either our London HQ or the East Coast US, to join our expanding global team. In this position you will form a key pillar within a dynamic events team. The position requires considered research into industry trends to inform and develop cutting edge conference agendas. You will have an aptitude for speaking with key industry stakeholders and existing high value clients to inform your agenda development. You will be responsible for building a pipeline of speakers for a series of paid for large scale conferences as well as selected one day free to attend summits. Our speakers include leading automakers, commodity producers, traders, financiers, technology pioneers and other high-profile business leaders from across the energy, transportation, and mining industries.
About the role: Reporting to the Director of Events Strategy, you will manage the process of researching, developing, and delivering event content. While working to tight deadlines, across multiple events, your responsibilities will include:
- Working with in-house thought leaders and speaking with industry experts to identify the market trends and hot topics.
- Writing compelling commercial copy and drawing up thought provoking programmes that offer interactive and innovative content sharing and networking opportunities.
- Securing high profile, hard to reach speakers, using clear, convincing, and persistent written and verbal communications.
- Preparing speakers, panellists, and moderators for the event, keeping detailed notes, and updating relevant documents and databases.
- Liaising with the sales and marketing teams while building the website and producing engaging emails and social posts to promote the event.
- Traveling to deliver events, working with design and technical teams to prepare the stage settings and provide a smooth run of show.
- Building your network, personal brand, and industry relationships to develop new opportunities for the events team and wider business.
Key requirements: The role requires someone who is well organised, personable and dedicated to building thought leadership around the top concerns within the industry. Applicants should have the following characteristics and experience:
- B2B content production experience is required.
- Transferable industry experience, such as green energy, batteries, energy transition is highly desirable.
- Strong research, analytical and written skills with an interest in researching content ideas.
- Confident communicator able to hook interest and engage with busy executive stakeholders.
- Commercially astute around the purpose of the business.
- Outgoing and approachable, with a collaborative attitude that contributes to discussions and supports your colleagues in planning phases and at events.
- Detail orientated and able to manage multiple projects using strong organisational and time management skills independently.
- Comfortable with travel for Benchmark events and some industry business development.
