We are looking for an experienced Business Development Consultant from within financial services or wealth management to join our Business Development team.
This is a front-end, outbound role focused on engaging financial advisers, generating interest, and creating a consistent pipeline of qualified meetings. You will work closely with our Business Development Managers to support adviser recruitment and drive growth across the network. This role is suited to someone who is confident speaking with advisers, understands the industry, and is comfortable working to clear activity and conversion targets.
What you'll do
- Conduct high-volume outbound calls to financial advisers using internal data and self-generated leads
- Build and maintain a targeted pipeline of advisers and firms
- Engage advisers in credible, relevant conversations aligned to their business model and needs
- Qualify interest and identify opportunities for further discussion
- Book high-quality meetings for Business Development Managers (c.20 per month)
- Manage and follow up conversations to maintain momentum
- Accurately capture activity, outcomes and insights in Salesforce
- Work closely with BDMs to refine messaging, targeting and approach
- Continuously improve outreach effectiveness based on results and feedback
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
Essential
- Experience in outbound telesales, recruitment calling, or business development
- Track record of generating meetings through proactive outreach
- Experience working to activity and conversion targets
- Confident use of CRM systems, ideally Salesforce
- Strong communication skills, particularly over the phone

- Background in financial services or wealth management
- Understanding of financial advisers and how their businesses operate
- Exposure to adviser segmentation, platforms or advice models
- Confident and credible when engaging senior professionals

The base: You'll be based at the Benchmark Head Office, within our Broadlands Business Campus near Horsham in West Sussex but will need to be present across our other offices, including the main Schroders headquarters in London. It has high standards and international reputation, without being in the city: a big, countryside campus means life will feel a little different.
We support our offices by using cutting edge software and hardware and our spacious campus facilities mean there's a great working environment for the team. With an on-site restaurant, coffee shop and gym, our campus has much to offer. And commuters can relax on our dedicated regular shuttle bus to and from Horsham's main line train station.
