This is a temporary position for an initial period of 3 to 6 months.

  • We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented
  • Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team on a temporary basis at our Head Office in

Horsham, West Sussex .

This role will support the day-to-day operation of the finance function, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently while contributing to wider accounting and reporting activities.

What you'll do

  • Process, record and file supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Import and reconcile bank statements.
  • Support credit control activities, including managing sales ledger queries.
  • Assist with onboarding new suppliers, including conducting bank account verification checks.
  • Monitor debtor and creditor balances.
  • Support the preparation and processing of payment runs and BACS payments.
  • Reconcile employee expenses and company credit card transactions and post entries to the ledger.
  • Assist with supplier novations and finance activities relating to acquisitions.
  • Support month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments and journal postings.
  • Produce ad hoc reports and reconciliations to support the wider Finance team.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
  • Support internal and external audits and investigate discrepancies where required.
  • Perform batch reconciliations between finance and CRM systems.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Finance team as required.
  • The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
  • Previous experience in a finance, accounts or bookkeeping environment.
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIFS and Pivot Tables.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Working towards or interested in studying an accounting qualification (e. g. AAT).
  • Experience within the financial services sector.
  • Experience using accounting or finance systems.
