We are seeking an Enterprise Solutions Architect with deep expertise in life science R&D and enterprise software systems to partner with Benchling's customers in driving the biotech revolution forward. The Enterprise Solutions Architect serves as a strategic advisor and technical leader for our enterprise customers, translating their IT strategy into tailored Benchling solutions. This role encompasses guiding organizations through digital transformation, leading technical implementation projects, overseeing solution architecture, and establishing best practices and data architecture standards to ensure long-term success.
Responsibilities
- Partner with biotechnology organizations at the forefront of innovation to assess their IT landscape, understand strategic objectives, and architect solutions that enable mission-critical outcomes.
- Lead end-to-end implementation projects from discovery through successful go-live and adoption.
- Provide ongoing strategic guidance, best practice education, and product engagement recommendations to maximize customer value realization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, identify opportunities, and translate business needs into technical solutions in partnership with internal engineering, product, and solutions architecture teams.
- Coordinate with Professional Services, Product, and Customer Success teams to orchestrate complex, global enterprise deployments.
- Support Sales and Marketing in technical deal strategy, and engage with Engineering, Product, and Solutions Architecture teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of global enterprise processes, product capabilities, and best practice frameworks.
Qualifications
Required
- 5-10+ years of combined experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry roles and scientific software implementation.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Information Management, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Proven track record leading global implementation teams in enterprise solution design and deployment (Benchling experience strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to empathize with scientists and rapidly comprehend complex scientific concepts and workflows.
- Exceptional communication skills across verbal, written, and presentation formats, coupled with strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- Self-directed, adaptable professional who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Comfortable operating across functions, organizational levels, and geographies with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites up to 30% based on project requirements.
Preferred
- 5+ years of client-facing software implementation and/or consulting experience, with demonstrated success delivering enterprise-scale SaaS projects.
- Hands-on experience implementing scientific/informatics platforms such as LIMS, ELN, MES, LES, and analytical tools including JMP, Spotfire, or Tableau.
