Our Mission
We're not your average benefits platform – we're the driving force that uplifts people's lives. Our technology connects the entire benefits ecosystem, creating better outcomes for employers, employees, brokers, and providers. Our mission is clear: to build a world where everything works at its best, ensuring every employee gets the support they need to thrive - both at work and beyond.
Your Mission
As our Lead Product Designer at Ben, you'll shape UX strategy alongside our Head of Product, own complex problem spaces end-to-end, and build the processes that help us move from discovery to shipped product. You'll be the voice of design when we're deciding what to build and why. This is a hands-on role. You'll have team leadership (currently a team of one), but you'll be in the weeds yourself - partnering closely with Product and Engineering, running discovery, shipping solutions, and continually looking to raise the bar on how we design as we scale into the enterprise space. You'll be designing across a mix of AI and non-AI product experiences, and we'd expect you to drive how we use AI tooling within design - whether that's prototyping, workflows, or improving/driving our ways of working.
If you've led design in a B2B product team and want real ownership - over the craft, the process, and the outcomes of products that will be used by hundreds of thousands of users, this is the role for you!
Things you'll be working on...
- Defining product UX strategy and vision alongside the Head of Product, shaping how Ben looks, feels, and works as we grow
- Owning complex problem spaces from discovery through to shipped product, with clear thinking on scope, risk, and sequencing
- Designing shippable solutions: user flows, wireframes, prototypes, production-ready UI - with attention to states, edge cases, and enterprise-grade workflows
- Designing for AI-powered product experiences alongside traditional workflows
- Building and evolving our design process: how work gets briefed, how we run discovery, how we validate, how we move faster
- Driving adoption of AI tooling within design: exploring how tools like Figma AI, Cursor, or prototyping assistants can help us work smarter
- Team leadership: coaching, feedback, growing their skills
- Owning customer and user insights: making sure we're learning from users and feeding that into what we build
- Maintaining and scaling our design system so it supports consistency and speed as the product grows
- Representing design in Pitch and Greenlight meetings, helping the business make better product decisions
You’ll love this role if you have...
- Extensive experience building and designing B2B SaaS products, ideally in start-up/scale-up environments
- A portfolio showing complex product work you’ve shipped, and your role in driving it from vision through validation to delivery
- Experience leading design work end-to-end with clear risk mitigation
- Experience building and developing design processes in a scaling team
- A track record partnering with Product and Engineering to shape scope, sequencing, and outcomes
- Deep experience designing enterprise-grade workflows: detail, states, edge cases, making complex things simple
- Evidence of coaching and developing designers while staying hands-on
- Strong UX and UI fundamentals: layout, typography, interaction, information architecture
- Genuine curiosity about AI in design - you’ve explored AI tooling, thought about how it changes workflows, and want to push that forward
- Comfort with ambiguity and pace: you make decisions, ship, and course-correct
- A pragmatic mindset: you care about work that moves the needle
- Fluency in Figma and experience contributing to or owning design systems
Nice-to-haves
- Experience designing AI-powered product experiences
- Familiarity with Storybook or experience working closely with engineers on component libraries and design systems
