We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Deputy Area Planning Manager (Gr 9) to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of urban development and planning in our region. In this position, you will assist in overseeing the planning department’s strategic initiatives, ensuring adherence to local regulations and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of area plans and policies.
- Conduct research and analysis on land use, demographics, and environmental impacts.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders and decision‑makers.
- Collaborate with various departments and external agencies on planning initiatives.
- Engage with community members and organizations to gather input and feedback on planning projects.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented plans and recommend modifications as needed.
- Supervise and provide guidance to junior planning staff and interns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in urban planning or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of planning principles, practices, and relevant laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, research, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in GIS and other planning software applications.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Proven experience in project management and team collaboration.
