Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to identify the needs of children with disabilities and their families.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans in collaboration with families and various service providers.
- Provide counseling and support to children and families to help them navigate the challenges associated with disabilities.
- Advocate for children’s rights and access to necessary resources and services in educational and healthcare settings.
- Facilitate communication between families and professionals to ensure coordinated care and support.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust service plans as needed.
- Provide training and resources to families to help them better care for their children’s specific needs.
- Participate in community outreach programs to raise awareness and support for families with children with disabilities.
Requirements
- Master\\\’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Valid state licensure as a Social Worker (LCSW or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children with disabilities and their families.
- Strong understanding of disability rights, policies, and support resources.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with children and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
