We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Traffic Engineer (PO5) to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing traffic engineering projects that enhance the safety and efficiency of our transportation systems. You will bring your extensive expertise in traffic analysis, road design, and safety measures to ensure that all projects meet regulatory standards and community needs. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide technical guidance and lead traffic studies, contributing to long-term planning and infrastructure projects. Your analytical skills will be critical in assessing traffic patterns and preparing reports to influence decision-making. Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage traffic engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Conduct comprehensive traffic studies and analyses to evaluate current and projected traffic conditions.
  • Develop and implement traffic management plans that enhance safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with city planners and stakeholders to align traffic engineering initiatives with community needs.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Review and evaluate transportation designs and plans for compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Advise on the integration of intelligent transportation systems to improve traffic flow and safety.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in traffic engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic analysis software and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
