Overview

The Personal Advisor – Leaving Care Service (SO2) plays a crucial role in supporting young people transitioning from care to independent living. In this position, you will be responsible for providing tailored guidance and support to individuals aged 16 to 25 who are preparing to leave the care system. Your expertise will help these young people navigate the complex processes of leaving care, securing stable housing, accessing education and employment opportunities, and building essential life skills. As a Personal Advisor, you will work collaboratively with social workers, education providers, and other agencies to ensure that each young person receives the comprehensive support they need to thrive. You will conduct assessments to identify the specific needs of each young person and develop personalized support plans that empower them to achieve their goals. Your compassionate and proactive approach will be essential in fostering resilience and confidence among these youth, allowing them to make informed choices about their future. Responsibilities

  • Provide individual support and guidance to young people in the Leaving Care Service.

  • Facilitate access to housing, education, and vocational training opportunities.

Requirements

  • A relevant degree in social work, youth work, or a related field.
