The Housing Solutions Officer will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including local authorities, housing providers, and support agencies, to identify practical housing solutions and prevent homelessness. Responsibilities
- Assess and respond to housing needs and enquiries from individuals and families experiencing housing difficulties.
- Provide information, advice, and support on housing options, rights, and responsibilities.
- Work collaboratively with local authorities, housing associations, and support services to secure appropriate accommodation.
- Develop and maintain detailed case records to ensure accurate documentation and reporting.
- Advocate on behalf of clients to resolve housing issues and prevent homelessness.
- Monitor and review client progress and adjust support plans as necessary.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to the development of housing strategies and initiatives.
- Keep up to date with housing legislation, policies, and best practices to inform service delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in housing advice, social work, or a related field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of housing law, homelessness legislation, and relevant policies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Empathy and understanding when dealing with vulnerable individuals and families.
- Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
